Benefit Cosmetics Porefessional Pore Minimizing Makeup

Benefit Cosmetics are well known for their ‘Porefessional’ range. If my memory serves me well, the original Porefessional primer was one of the first high end purchases I ever made. To this day I still love the primer and generally use it in the areas that I need it, over the top of hydrating primer. Benefit have extended their Porefessional range over the last year with their Matte Rescue products, and now they are adding a foundation type product to the mix!

The Porefessional Pore Minimizing Makeup* is Benefits newest addition to their range. It has been designed to “minimize the appearance of pores” using a “weightless, longwear matte formula”. It is available in five shades, shade 1 (ivory), shade 2 (beige), shade 3 (natural), shade 4 (warm honey) and shade 5 (amber). It contains just 15ml of product and is worth $52.00 from Adore Beauty.

Claims:
1. Covers imperfections without clogging pores
2. Smooths & reduces the look of pores
3. Instantly mattifies & controls excess surface oil for 8 hours
4. Longwear matte finish
5. Weightless
6. Buildable coverage

Directions:
“To use: Shake well before opening. Pull out sponge from base, remove cap & press button to release 1-2 drops onto sponge. Pat and blend on pore-problem areas or all over face. Apply on bare skin or over makeup.” After reading these instructions and having a look at the product itself, I think its going to be best used on top of or underneath foundation in the T-Zone or areas that need that extra perfecting, rather than as a foundation alone.

Packaging:
The packaging is sleek and innovative for a foundation. It matches up with the rest of the Porefessional range, providing that continuity which I like very much. Once you unscrew the cap, their is a point where the product comes out, and a spot on the back that you press to release the makeup! Its very different, I haven’t used anything that works like this before! There is also a pull out sponge at the bottom that you are supposed to apply the makeup directly to, then use the sponge to apply to the face. I do like the packaging, its not bulky at all and will slip easily into my makeup draws.

Final Thoughts:
When you release the product, it is a very thin, fluidy substance. A little bit goes a long way. It is 100% weightless as it claims to be. I have trialled this over the last week or so, using it on top of my foundation or underneath it. I got the best results when I used it underneath my foundation, on top of the porefessional primer. I did trial it without using a primer also. I used it in my t-zone and on my chin, the areas that I need the most help disguising pores, and I definitely recognised the results! The product is buildable, but I applied a thin layer as I was going to be putting foundation over top. I am going to keep using this for sure ??

I initially thought this was just a normal foundation but quite interesting to hear that it works better in conjunction with foundation! The packaging looks really interesting too.

I always have pore issues on my nose and forehead so this might be just the thing for me. Adore Beauty is amazing with their afterpay service plus the Tim Tam! Great review 😉
