And welcome to 2017! I’m a bit late, but I have had some time off blogging over Christmas and New Year so I could have a bit more time to spend with family and friends. Now i’m officially on holidays for 3 weeks (yay!) until I start my new full time job at the end of January, so lots of time to get organised and catch up with the blogging world! I thought I would make my first post of the new year dedicated to my favourite and most used products from 2016! It will be good to be able to look back at this at the end of the year and see how much has or hasn’t changed! So lets get straight into it..
1. The Original Beauty Blender
Beauty Blender’s changed the makeup game for me. I was never a fan of using brushes to apply foundation, they just didn’t work for me. Before sponges, I used to use my fingers… gross. I have the pink, black and nude blenders and I love them all!
2. Mario Badescu Facial Spray
I picked this up after seeing Kylie Jenner and Styled By Hrush rave about it. I love using this to settle down my powders and give myself a beautiful glow and dewy finish!
3. Too Faced Hangover Primer
This primer has been my ride or die for a while now. I think I re-purchased 4-5 times last year, that just says it all right? Amazing for dry skin!!
4. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
I absolutely fell in love with this foundation in 2016. I usually wore matte finish foundations but Sheer Glow blew me away! The finish is gorgeous and it feels super light on the skin.
5. Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer
I use the shade fair neutral to conceal and highlight under my eyes! Its the perfect highlight shade for my pale skin, and the coverage and consistency is perfect for me! Its really easy to blend out.
6. Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette
I used this palette mainly for the setting and brightening powders, although I did dip into the contour shades on the odd occasion. The shade “Lucid” was the perfect under eye setting powder for me. It works so well and really helped prevent creasing! Sometimes I mixed it with the banana shade “Lyric”.
7. Nars Laguna Bronzer
I finally hit pan on my contour powder this year, and actually made a pretty large dent in it! I used this shade a majority of the time I did my makeup to contour my cheekbones, jaw line and forehead. Laguna matched my complexion perfectly.
8. Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation
Another ride or die! I cannot complete my face without setting my foundation with a powder. I use this powder every single time I wear makeup, you won’t catch me without it! I highly recommend checking it out if you like a full coverage look.
9. Hourglass Blush ‘Incandescent Electra’
I adore these blushes by Hourglass. They provide a subtle flush with a beautiful glow!
10. Becca Skin Perfecter ‘Moonstone’
Becca highlighters absolutely blew me away this year! The formula is hands down one of the best and the shade range is amazing! I hit pan on Moonstone in 2016, it suits my skin tone and complements it so well. I also love Champagne pop, obvs!!!
11. Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil and Gimme Brow
I didn’t try the Benefit brow range until the later months of the year but OH MY GOD, they are phenomenal. I have been using the Goof Proof in shade 2 to fill in my brows and create the shape I want and follow up with Gimme Brow shade 1 to set.
12. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
In my opinion, this was one of the most sought after products of 2016. The shade range is beautiful and you can create a range of looks using just the one palette. It has become a staple in my collection and I know I will continue to use it throughout 2017.
13. Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow
I have the Kyshadow palettes in Bronze and Burgundy and i’m obsessed with them! The Bronze palette is my favourite, I can create the perfect bronze smokey eye or even just a simple bronze/neutral eye look with it. It has been a staple for me as it has the perfect lid colour and transition shades. I’m looking forwards to seeing what palettes Kylie will be releasing next.
14. Social Eyes Vixen Eyelashes
Holy. Grail. Lashes. Vixen lashes are amazing!!!! They have a super thin band for comfortable wear. They are the perfect length if you like a long look and they’re not over powering at all. I have gone through so many pairs and will continue to use them in 2017. I can’t rave about these lashes enough, you need to try them!
15. Urban Decay Chill Setting Spray
Chill is my favourite from Urban Decay’s range of sprays. A setting spray is a must for me, and as I can get quite dry I love the hydrating affect that Chill has. It feels so lightweight on your skin and has amazing staying power, even on the hottest of days!
16. Charlotte Tilbury Kim K W Lipstick
This shade blew me away! It is literally my perfect nude. I love the creamy formula, it wears so nicely and feels great on the lips. As much as I love a liquid matte lipstick, cream formulas will always have my heart!
Let me know if any of these are your favourites from 2016 in the comments below!
